Venezuela: A country in Chaos/ Venezuela: Un Pais en caos.

The gangsters recruit our children/ Los hampones reclutan a nuestros niños.

Venezuela is a country in chaos, no matter where you look. Yesterday the workers of the Venezuelan Guayana Corporation protested in front of the organization’s headquarters, asking a salary increase of 40 percent, equal to the increase Chavez decided to give the military. They accused former Minister Rodolfo Sanz of deviating U.S. $485 million to a bank in Lebanon, together with a “partner” and added that they had the number of the bank account. A new corruption scandal involving Chavez and the Kirchners in Argentina has been revealed, related to extortions suffered by Argentinean businessmen at the hands of a Chavez-Kirchner mafia. General Antonio Rivero has split with Chavez accusing him of installing Cuban military officers within the Venezuelan armed force. Iran increases its political and military presence in Venezuela. FARC and Chavez are still allies. Raul Castro claims that now “Venezuela and Cuba is the same thing”. Chavez delivers the Venezuelan sovereignty and its oil in the arms of China for a loan of some thirty thousand million dollars, to be used at his discretion. Lawyer Herman Escarra has accused Chavez of treason and of conspiring to violate the constitutional order both before Venezuelan authorities and international legal organizations. Chavez’s brothers, Argenis and Adan, exchange blows following a discussion on electoral issues. The U.S. dollar rapidly increases its value in the black/parallel market. Judge Maria Lourdes Afiuni continues in prison by order of Chavez. The dictator orders the expropriation of the Barquisimeto Industrial Zone, against all reason or logic, due to his hatred of the Mendoza family, owners of POLAR. The regime expropriates another sugar mill; ten are now in the hands of the regime, causing a collapse in the national production of sugar. The Experimental University of the armed Forces, UNEFA, actively promotes the recruiting of Venezuelan children for the Armed Popular Militias (see poster above).
Every day we witness how the country falls more and more in a swamp of corruption, ignorance, ineptitude and vulgarity. Members of the regime such as Diosdado Cabello, Luisa Ortega Diaz, Gabriela Ramirez, Cilia Flores and the very same Hugo Chavez stage daily demonstrations of political partiality, abuse of power and divorce from their true responsibilities, in order to advance their personal agendas and the dictatorial regime. The country has fallen in the hands of gangsters.
It is difficult to know how much longer we will suffer this state of things. Beyond any attempt at civil insurgency, which would be morally and legally justified, the truth remains that the country is crumbling down and that the Chavez’s regime is imploding. No matter how great our capacity to adjust is, the country cannot live in a permanent state of chaos. This is why we believe the regime is in its death throes.
